Am Yellowstone River, wo Montanas Hochebene in die Ausläufer der Beartooth-Berge übergeht, liegt Billings — mit Abstand grösste Stadt des Bundesstaats und Versorgungszentrum für Ostmontana und den Norden Wyomings.
