## Beschreibung

Die Commemorative Air Force hält am Camarillo Airport (ICAO: KCMA, FAA: CMA) ihre restaurierten Warbirds aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg flugfähig. Der Platz in Ventura County, gut eine Autostunde nordwestlich von Los Angeles, war bis 1969 als Oxnard Air Force Base ein Abfangjäger-Stützpunkt und dient heute der allgemeinen Luftfahrt samt Business-Jets. Die einzige Piste 8/26 misst rund 1'833 m, ist aber für planmässige Frachter nicht ausgelegt – Camarillo schlägt keine Luftfracht um; Gemüse und Beeren der Oxnard Plain rollen gekühlt über den Highway 101, Luftfracht läuft über LAX und Ontario. Im September 2025 sprach die FAA rund 14,4 Mio. USD für die Sanierung der Piste zu.
