## Beschreibung

Als die US Air Force 1966 die Larson Air Force Base aufgab, erbte Moses Lake eine Infrastruktur, die bis heute überdimensioniert wirkt – und genau darin liegt der Wert von Grant County International. Die Hauptbahn misst über 4'100 Meter, eine der längsten im Westen der USA, weshalb Boeing hier Testflüge absolviert und 2019/20 Dutzende 737 MAX parkte; auch Japan Airlines trainierte jahrzehntelang ihre Crews in der zuverlässig trockenen Luft des Columbia Basin. Linienfracht gibt es keine – die Kartoffeln, Äpfel und Tiefkühlprodukte der Region fahren per Lkw zur I-90 und weiter nach Spokane oder Seattle. Mit Flugtest, Wartung und reichlich Fläche bleibt MWH dennoch einer der interessantesten Spezialflughäfen des Nordwestens.
