## Beschreibung

Rund 600'000 Passagiere zählte der Marche Airport (IATA: AOI, ICAO: LIPY) 2024 – ein Plus von knapp 16 Prozent gegenüber 2023. Der einzige Verkehrsflughafen der Region Marken liegt in Falconara Marittima rund 12 km westlich von Ancona, direkt an der Adria und nur etwa 2 km vom A14-Anschluss Ancona Nord. Für die Fracht ist er durchaus relevant: UPS Airlines fliegt regelmässig die europäischen Drehkreuze Bergamo und Köln/Bonn an, Mistral Air bedient nationale Strecken, und der Bodenabfertiger Volatyle übernimmt Cargo-Handling, Gefahrgut nach IATA, Lagerung und Zollabfertigung vor Ort. Die 2'962 m lange Piste 04/22 lässt auch grössere Frachter zu. Bedient wird damit vor allem die exportstarke Marken-Industrie – Schuhe und Mode (Tod's, Hogan), Möbel und Keramik im Raum Pesaro. Betreiber ist seit 2021 die Ancona International Airport S.p.A., hinter der die Investmentgruppe Njord steht.
