## Beschreibung

Von 1955 bis 1981 landeten hier Linienjets aus aller Welt: Paya Lebar war Singapurs internationaler Flughafen, bevor Changi diese Rolle übernahm. Heute ist Paya Lebar Air Base (IATA: QPG, ICAO: WSAP) ein reiner Militärflugplatz der Republic of Singapore Air Force mit F-15SG-Kampfflugzeugen und für zivile Fracht nicht zugänglich. Ab 2030 wird die Basis stillgelegt; die RSAF verlegt ihre Verbände nach Changi East und Tengah, auf den rund 800 Hektar entsteht laut URA-Masterplan 2025 ein neues Stadtquartier mit etwa 150'000 Wohnungen. Luftfracht für Singapur läuft komplett über Changi (SIN) mit seiner Freihandelszone Changi Airfreight Centre, nur wenige Kilometer östlich.
