Die Bahamas (ISO-Code: BS) sind ein Inselstaat im westlichen Atlantik, nordöstlich von Kuba und südöstlich der USA gelegen. Politisch handelt es sich um ein unabhängiges Commonwealth-Land mit parlamentarischer Demokratie und dem britischen Monarchen als Staatsoberhaupt. Die Landeswährung ist der Bahamaische Dollar (BSD), der parallel zum US-Dollar weit verbreitet ist.
