Im Zweiten Weltkrieg betrieb die kanadische Luftwaffe in Alliford Bay einen Wasserflugzeug-Stützpunkt; kommerzieller Seefrachtumschlag fand hier nie in nennenswertem Umfang statt. Die geschützte Bucht auf Moresby Island im Haida-Gwaii-Archipel (British Columbia) bietet mit rund 14 m zwar grosse Wassertiefe, aber keine Container- oder Stückgut-Terminals und keine Zollinfrastruktur.
