Anders als der nahe Industriehafen Portovesme ist Carloforte (IT CLF) auf der Insel San Pietro vor Südwest-Sardinien in erster Linie ein Fähr- und Fischereihafen. Mehrmals stündlich verkehren die Delcomar-Fähren zwischen Carloforte, Portovesme und Calasetta und sichern die Anbindung der rund 6'500 Einwohner zählenden Insel ans sardische Festland.
