Bis 1986 baute Collingwood am Georgian Bay Schiffe, und der markante Getreidespeicher von 1929 verlud Korn für die oberen Grossen Seen – doch die Werft schloss, der Speicher folgte 1993. Speditionen nutzen für kommerzielle Ladung Owen Sound oder, am Westende des Ontariosees, Hamilton; die Frachtrelevanz Collingwoods ist heute gering.
