Zwischen den Inseln des North Channel im nördlichen Lake Huron ist Desbarats vor allem ein Anlaufpunkt für Freizeitboote: Die Kensington Point Marina bietet Liegeplätze, Reparatur, Winterlager und Propan, nicht aber kommerziellen Güterumschlag. Mit nur rund 1,8 m Wassertiefe ist der Hafen für Frachtschiffe ungeeignet und hat keine nennenswerte Speditionsrelevanz. Wer in der Region Ladung über Wasser bewegt, nutzt Sault Ste. Marie als nächsten Anlaufpunkt oder die Seeweg-Häfen wie Thunder Bay für Getreide. Terminal-, Zoll- oder Containerdienste gibt es in Desbarats nicht.
