Wo die Bahnlinie aus Inverness am Meer endet, liegt Kyle of Lochalsh gegenüber der Insel Skye – lange der Eisenbahn- und Fährkopf zur Insel, seit der Skye Bridge (1995) jedoch ohne Fährverkehr nach Kyleakin.
