3,3 Millionen Barrel Rohöl fasst die Lagerkapazität des Umschlagterminals Whiffen Head in der Placentia Bay an Neufundlands Südwestküste, Kanada. Die 1998 von Newfoundland Transshipment Limited (NTL) in Betrieb genommene Anlage übernimmt per Shuttle-Tanker Rohöl aus den Offshore-Feldern Hibernia, Terra Nova, White Rose und Hebron und verlädt es über zwei Tiefwasserjetties auf hochseetaugliche Tanker. Ergänzt wird die Bucht durch die Raffinerie Come By Chance (North Atlantic Refining Corp.) mit einer Kapazität von 130'000 Fass pro Tag, der einzigen Raffinerie Neufundlands. Ein UN/LOCODE ist für die Placentia Bay nicht vergeben, da es sich um ein weitläufiges Reede- und Terminalgebiet statt um einen einzelnen Hafenkai handelt. Container- oder Stückgutumschlag findet hier praktisch nicht statt; dafür dienen St. John's und Argentia als nächstgelegene Häfen mit allgemeiner Frachtabfertigung. Zoll- und Exportabwicklung für Rohöl erfolgt über die kanadische Grenzbehörde CBSA in Zusammenarbeit mit den Terminalbetreibern.
