Ein 2,4 Kilometer langer Jetty und eine Gasfraktionierungsanlage prägen Port Bonython am Spencer Gulf in South Australia – ein Energie- und Flüssigladungshafen, kein Containerterminal. Über den 1982 errichteten Steg exportiert Santos Rohöl und Erdgasflüssigkeiten, die über 659 Kilometer aus dem Cooper Basin bei Moomba herangeführt werden, und importiert Dieselprodukte. Als offene Reede kann der Anleger kleinere Capesize-Schiffe mit bis zu rund 110'000 Tonnen abfertigen; von hier gehen Kohlenwasserstoffe per Schiff in den asiatisch-pazifischen Raum. Eine zusätzliche Schüttgut-Exportanlage parallel zum Santos-Jetty ist geplant und würde das Profil um Trockenladung erweitern. Container-, RoRo- oder klassischer Stückgutverkehr findet hier nicht statt. Für containerisierte Sendungen in South Australia ist Port Adelaide mit dem Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal die Adresse, für Erz und Schüttgut das nahe Whyalla.
