Zwei LNG-Tanks zu je 230'000 Kubikmetern – seit 2020 zusammen 460'000 Kubikmeter – machen das Profil des Hafens von Soma (JP SOM) in der Präfektur Fukushima an der Ostküste von Honshu deutlich: Hier dominiert Energie, nicht Containerverkehr. Für solche Sendungen sind Onahama im Süden der Präfektur und Sendai-Shiogama die naheliegenden Alternativen.
