Im 19. und frühen 20. Jahrhundert lebte Söråker vom Sägewerk: Schnittholz aus dem Delta des Indalsälven ging hier über die Kaikante in die Ostsee. Heute ist eine reguläre kommerzielle Frachtabfertigung am Ort nicht bestätigt; die Kaitiefe von rund 4,9 Metern lässt allenfalls kleinere Stückgut- oder Projektpartien zu. Für containerisierte Ladung, Zollabfertigung und Linienanbindung nutzen Verlader das nahe Sundsvall (Terminal Tunadal) oder Härnösand. Söråker bleibt damit ein Standort mit begrenzter Frachtrelevanz.
