Tiffin bei Midland an der Georgian Bay des Huronsees war einst ein geschäftiger Getreideumschlagplatz: Ab 1906 lagerte hier ein Elevator mit 900'000 Bushel Kapazität Korn, das von Seeschiffen kam und per Bahn weiterging. Von dieser Rolle ist wenig geblieben; nur der Elevator in Midland selbst überdauerte, und kommerzielle Frachtrelevanz hat Tiffin heute kaum. Für Getreide- und Schüttgutverkehr am Huronsee ist Goderich der massgebliche kommerzielle Hafen, für Stückgut und Container die Häfen am St.-Lorenz-Strom und Hamilton. Speditionen sollten Tiffin als historischen Standort und nicht als aktiven Seehafen einordnen.
