Zur Blütezeit der Georgian Bay Lumber Company verliessen ab 1861 Schnittholz-Ladungen auf Schonern und Dampfern den Hafen von Waubaushene – mit der Schliessung des Sägewerks 1924 endete die kommerzielle Hafentätigkeit. Heute ist der Ort an der Georgian Bay (Huronsee) eine ruhige Gemeinde ohne Container-, Schüttgut- oder Zollabfertigung und ohne UN/LOCODE. Für Frachtsendungen im Raum der oberen Grossen Seen sind kommerzielle Häfen wie Owen Sound, Goderich oder Hamilton massgeblich. Waubaushene ist somit von historischem, nicht von logistischem Interesse.
